EBSCO Solar PV Controls
Project Type: Commercial and Industrial Roof Mounted PV systems with export regulation and fail-safe mechanism.
Location: Birmingham, AL
Client/ EPC: Eagle Solar and Light was the EPC and EBSCO was the system customer.
Products/ Services:
Commercial and Industrial roof-mounted PV systems located on multiple building roofs with three points of grid interconnection. Alabama Power, the connecting utility added export restrictions to the system to eliminate the PV ever generating more energy that the actual building load, so REIG developed, installed, and commissioned two different inverter control systems based on an SEL-RTAC that ensures that power is never delivered to the grid, always keeping energy delivery by the utility to the site as a positive number, albeit a small number during peak generation times.. In addition, we installed two SEL-851 relays that will trip the PV system main shunt trip breaker in the event the RTAC should fail, allowing the PV system to deliver energy to the grid. Connected the Chint Power Systems Flex Gateways to the system to allow customer monitoring and data delivery.
